Just to See You Smile...

Just to see you smile
I'd do anything
That you wanted me to
And all is said and done
I'd never count the cost
It's worth all that's lost
Just to see you smile

Can You Say Fire Drill...

Last night I was reminded of a good reason to practice a fire drill...Thankfully we did not have to do one this time. Around 7:15pm there was a loud explosion and smoke began pouring into the sky just one building away. 119 was called and we were informed that a garbage truck had run into the side of the plastic chemical plant and it was burning. The wind was blowing and there was billows of black smoke rising in amongst more explosions- it took close to 45 minutes for the fire trucks to arrive...

I am reminded daily of God's protection as we keep on keeping on...

"Some through the fire, some through the flood, some through the water but all through the blood, some through great sorrow but God gives a son,g in the night season and all the day long."

Happy Birthday Jonalyn-

May 18th was Jona's 26th Birthday. We always try to do something special for one another on our special days, reminding each other always of Psalm 139..."All the days ordained for me were written in Your Book before one of them came to be."
The girls found these masks while they were out one afternoon and so the theme for a party was well underway...

They all got busy making favorite foods, including lumpia- I was responsible for the cake which was a stretch in creative juices and a thank you prayer for a box cake
mix...

We invited Julie, Linda, and Dr. Zhai to join us...Dr. Zhai was very thankful we did not ask him to wear a mask and he was more than happy to stand behind the camera and help with some photography of the evening.

Power Off...Towel On

This weekend our power was turned off for a couple of days, we did actually see them out working on the power lines which made it a bit easier to be understanding, usually it is just off. The days were long and hot and I just had to smile when several of our little ones started sporting the no clothes ans wet towel look- it really was cute and they seemed to stay happier that way.

Sweet Strawberries-

One of my ayis brought me fresh strawberries from her sister's garden, mmm...good!

Precious Moments in May...

I Love Christmas so when I was unpacking the supply bags brought by the incoming team I was thrilled to find that the box with my name scrawled across the top contained this beautiful nativity...yes, I really did set it up in my room. It reminded me of home, of family, and of a precious baby sent to save the world.
"One small Child in a land of a thousand, one small child in a city of night, one small hand reaching out to the starlight, one small Savior of life."

How Does Your Garden Grow?

May 14- Leo and I planted a garden out front today, he brought seeds and I brought my little starter plants from the window sill. I was grateful he simply pointed and told me where to plant things and he worked the pick...

Things that made me smile this week...

My seedlings in the window sprouting up and growing... reminded me of some other little seedlings growing in my nursery.

Qincy and Kaylee, their sweet smiling faces- just so you know this was one of those posed photos, they both have their very own cribs- but they looked so cute side by side with their chubby little rolls.

And then there was sweet new baby brother Joshua who just looked so peaceful as he fell asleep in my arms for the very first time.

Something to Celebrate...

May 14th- saw us all up on the roof for the maiden voyage or rather firing of our brand new gas grill! We were so excited- Mike was especially thankful that all you do is turn the nob and grill the meat, no more tiny grill or non-flammable charcoal- yes that is correct, we are sure that it is fire retardant.

Jin takes a look and says he thinks we will have enough meat to all eat at once this time, not in shifts anymore.
