Real Chinese Dining...

This evening we decided to try out one of the little restaurants that is right down the street from MBHOH in order to find some new options for sharing with our many guests who come to visit, maybe something a little closer to home...so Mike, Jona, Belle, Hiedi, and I set off to see what we could find! We choose a place we had passed many times that looked pretty good- as Chinese restaurants go and were seated near the kitchen which had no doors and gave a perfect view for watching our chefs at work. This is always fun in the States, however I do not think we will be taking any squeamish guests here for dinner as the two chefs wandered over to the flaming stoves to toss the vast amounts of oil into the cooking with no shirts on. I am sure the kitchen was very hot with the flames that were leaping up from the grills however when the girls started discussing that they thought maybe the extra salt in our food was not the flavor of MSG but sweat we could not help but laugh. They were cleaving fresh meat and throwing it into the fry pan, one walked out the front to buy our vegetables from the local farmer who was sitting on the curb and when he returned he produced the garlic to flavor our greens from his pocket! The icing on the cake was when one guy put on his apron over his bare chest and lit a cigarette to finish the last few tosses of our beef stir fry...Only in China!
